  • How long does it take to install the Trash Locks?
    • Generally it takes less than ten minutes to install a set
  • Does my trash company need to approve the installation?
    • It depends on who owns your trash can.  
  • What if my trash company uses an automated truck, to dump the trash into the truck?
    • They may want you to unbuckle the Trash Lock that morning, which will still keep your trash secured the vast majority of the time
  • Will the locks stop a bear?
    • Yes.  The Ultimate Locks have been certified to make a trash cart black bear resistant.  This was with a 95-gallon Rehig Pacific cart.  To achieve the certification, the bears needed to try to actively get into the trash cart for sixty minutes.  The actual test took over three hours with multiple bears.   How successful the bear is going to be is largely dependent on the strength of the trash can and lid   
  •  What size trash cans will these work on?
    • The Trash Locks are designed to work any trash can with a hinged lid.  The most common is the 95-gallon, they will also work on the smaller 65 and 35-gallon trash cans.
  • Will they work if I don't have a hinged lid?
    • You can use them on a can with an unhinged lid, but you are probably going to want two sets (four Locks total), to fully secure the lid.
